Why is my HP KI04 battery charged to only 90-95% after several hours?

This is normal behavior for batteries in HP notebooks. Once the battery is fully charged, the notebook allows the battery to discharge a small amount to conserve battery capacity. When the charge level reaches 90-95%, the computer begins charging to full charge again.
