If Primary (internal) Battery (601) appears in the alert message, it means the measured storage capacity of the primary (internal) battery is less than 25% of the original storage capacity. The number “601” denotes the associated error code that is recorded in the system log. This also may happens to a brand new HP battery. You can also solve it via below method.

Method 1: Run Battery test

Turn off your HP computer.
Now, turn on your PC and hit the “esc” key to open the “Startup Menu”.
In the “Startup Menu” display”, hit the “F2” key to launch the “Battery Test” option.
Follow the wizard to manage your computer’s battery.


Method 2: Re-insert Battery

Turn off your PC
Unplug your laptop from the power supply and remove your battery
After removing the battery, press and hold the power button down for at least 25 seconds.
Insert your battery back into your PC and plug in your power cord.
Now, turn on your laptop.
