Laptop shutting down Without Warnning

Question:”I have an Dell vostro v131 laptop which is 2 years and 3 months old. I have never changed the battery since I got the laptop. For the past few weeks, my laptop has been shutting down without warning when the battery hits 20%. I want to make sure that it’s a battery change that I should do and not something else. “

Solution:”
the warranty of the dell laptop battery is in most cases only half a year, and most laptop batteries do not run longer than two or three years until the battery life is only one third..

But if the laptop is shutting down without any warning, it is mostly caused by overheating. And if the fan is running most of the time at full speed, it is a sign, that you computer has collected a lot of dust between the cooling fan and the heatsink. The heatsink inside of the laptop have very narrow fins, that will get blocked in approximately half a year. But you can clean it quite easily: Block the fan movement using a stripe of cardboard and use the vacuum cleaner from the air inlet off your computers cooling fan. Some laptop models can be opened easily on the bottom side. If this is with your model, you also can disassemble your laptops cooling fan, and wacuum clean your computer's heat sink. after cleaning your heatsink, your computers cooling fan will run in much lower speed, and your computer will not switch off from overheating. This also will increase your computers life span. “

Solution 2: try freezing the laptop battery for a few days
let it thaw a bit after u pull it out, then put it back and check on the charging in about a half hour if it is charging, you may have a bit more life left….but you need a replacement battery
my battery is to use a small UPS and pull the battery…then 2 or 3 times a year, put in the battery, note the charge level, pull the plug out and use the battery to about 10-20% left, then plug in the power …once it is topped off, remove it and shelve it, til the next time to cycle it , or use the battery if you need it, that’s what it is for, but drain it and top it off at least 3-4 times a year then freeze it overnight once a year and top it off after you freeze it, then remove it again til it is time to cycle it or you need to use the battery
once you replace the battery, go into power options, and change the settings for battery power to shut off when power gets to 20% or 10% at the very least…do not let it go to zero….bad bad bad for the battery.
