Have you ever wondering why ASUS G751JY Series battery drains rapidly when it's in sleep mode

It may occures to you that after closing the tablet or putting it into sleep mode, the battery drains faster than it should. Now we'd like to shed some light on it. Here somes two main factor.

Battery settings

Windows integrated customizable power settings into the software. To access these settings, click on -the battery icon on the right side of the taskbar. Then click on the link “More power options.” In the new window, there will be an option on the left side called “Create a power plan.” In the next screen, click next. You can now adjust the screen brightness options and how long the computer’s display stays on. If you reduce both of these, it conserves energy.

Tips tell you how to prevent a Li-ion battery to fall asleep

Li-ion batteries contain a protection circuit that shields the battery against abuse. This important safeguard has the disadvantage of turning the battery off if over-discharged. Storing a discharged battery for any length of time can do this as the self-discharge will gradually lower the voltage of a battery that is already low on charge. The protection circuit will eventually cut off between 2.20 and 2.90V/cell.

Some battery chargers and analyzers (Cadex), feature a wake-up feature or “boost” to reactivate and recharge batteries that have fallen asleep. Without this provision, a charger would render these batteries unserviceable and the packs would be discarded. The boost feature applies a small charge current to first activate the protection circuit. If a normal cell voltage can be established, the charger will them start a normal charge.

Do not boot lithium-based batteries(like LENOVO ThinkPad X1 Carbon (3460)Series )back to life that have dwelled below 1.5V/cell for a week or longer. Copper shunts may have formed inside the cells that can lead to a partial or total electrical short. When recharging, such a cell might become unstable, causing excessive heat or showing other anomalies. The “boost” function by Cadex halts the charge if the voltage does not rise normally.

When boosting a battery, assure correct polarity. Advanced chargers and battery analyzers will not service a battery in reverse polarity. With a sleeping Li-ion, the voltage cannot read and the service must be done with this awareness. Li-ion is more delicate than other chemistries and a voltage applied in reverse may cause an electrical short or do other damages.

Storing lithium-ion batteries presents some uncertainty. On one end, manufacturers recommend to keep them at a state-of-charge of 40–50 percent, and on the other end there is the worry of losing them due to over-discharge.There is ample of bandwidth between these criteria, and if it doubt keep the battery at a higher charge in a cool place.DELL Alienware M17x R4

As part of a study, Cadex examined the cause of battery failure in mobile phones. Out of a large population of returned warranty batteries, 91 percent could easily be restored, of which 30 percent failed due to over-discharge. Only nine percent were non-serviceable. The restored batteries went back to service. Lack of test devices at customer service levels is in part to blame for the high exchange rate.

Tips telling you how to repair your adapter

Although the cost of a new adapter is usually modest, repairing is often so easy that it makes sense in any case, so it will not do your harm if you get this skill. The most common problem (and the only one we will deal with here) is the case of a broken wire internal to the cable at either the wall wart or device end due to excessive flexing of the cable.

Usually, the point of the break is just at the end of the rubber cable guard. If you flex the cable, you will probably see that it bends more easily here than elsewhere due to the broken inner conductor. If you are reasonably dextrous, you can cut the cable at this point, strip the wires back far enough to get to the good copper, and solder the ends together. Insulate completely with several layers of electrical tape. Make sure you do not interchange the two wires for DC output adapters! LENOVO 45N0297 adapter (They are usually marked somehow either with a stripe on the insulator, a thread inside with one of the conductors, or copper and silver colored conductors. Before you cut, make a note of the proper hookup just to be sure. Verify polarity after the repair with a voltmeter.

The same procedure can be followed if the break is at the device plug end but you may be able to buy a replacement plug which has solder or screw terminals rather than attempting to salvage the old one.

Once the repair is complete, test for correct voltage and polarity before connecting the powered equipment. This repair may not be pretty, but it will work fine, is safe, and will last a long time if done carefully.ACER Aspire 1610 adapter

If the adapter can be opened - it is assembled with screws rather than being glued together - then you can run the good part of the cable inside and solder directly to the internal terminals. Again, verify the polarity before you plug in your expensive equipment.

WARNING: If this is a switching power supply type of adapter, there are dangerous voltages present inside in addition to the actual line connections. Do not touch any parts of the internal circuitry when plugged in and make sure the large filter capacitor is discharged (test with a voltmeter) before touching or doing any work on the circuit board. For more info on switching power supply repair, .
If it is a normal adapter, then the only danger when open are direct connections to the AC plug. Stay clear when it is plugged in.

Three things you should know about HP Omen 15-5014TX battery

We know HP Omen series are gaming laptop, while we all know this laptop is high-power- consumed, although many seller asserts the device carrying the Energy Star service mark, such as computer products and peripherals, kitchen appliances, buildings and other products, generally use 20% to 30% less energy than required by federal standards. It is always advisable to get a back up battery.

Whether you’re already in the market for a replacement battery or just concerned about the inevitable day when you will be, here are three things you should know:

1. Most laptop batteries start to fail in 1-2 years. This varies depending on your usage, of course, but the average laptop battery is good for around 400 recharges (a.k.a. cycles). After that, it starts to lose its capacity to hold a charge.

That’s why the battery that once gave you, say, 3-4 hours’ worth of runtime now peters out after just 1-2 hours. And after a few years, you might be lucky to get an even an hour.

2. You can extend the life of your current battery. If you use your laptop as your primary desktop PC, you may be wasting battery cycles by leaving it plugged in all the time.

The solution: pop the battery out until you actually need to go somewhere with your laptop. As long as the latter is plugged into an AC outlet, it doesn’t actually need the battery.

3. Investigate third-party alternatives. When you do end up needing a replacement battery, you don’t necessarily have to buy one from the laptop manufacturer--paying top dollar in the process.

Instead, search the Web for the laptop make/model and "battery" to see if there are less-expensive third-party options. If your system is a popular model, there almost certainly will be.

Also, be sure to check out www.storebattery.co.nz. These replacement batteries--available for a huge range of laptop models. Coming with a two-year warranty, they’re priced fairly competitively .

wow my Hp probook 4530s says "plugged in not charging"!!!!

HP ProBook 4540s 11.1V 8400mAh laptop battery

It happens when you plugged it in to charge the Hp probook 4530s battery overnight and the system doesn't recognize the power supply. The charging light does not light up and the battery indicator on the taskbar doesn't react to the a/c power. Actually you can solve it by unpluging the power to and pluging it back it and it work. after booting to windows you need to put the battery back in and it say the battery is dieing. so it does not know that the power adapter is plug in when the battery is and will not charge. Then step 2 that try to look into is to see if the bios needed to be updated , so please start the bios installer and if it told you that the power adapter needed to be plug in, but the battery is out and the power adapter is what powering the unit.
Seems to be a problem with Bios not reconizing that the power adapter is plug up and will not charge the battery, also if you plug in the battery and then take it out while the power adapter is plug up it shutdown, does not reconize the power dapter. if you want to get the unit to come on so you can use it untill you get it fix take battery out and unpug power adapter. then plug the power adapter bak up and it should come on. to get it to charge you have to keep puting the battery in and out while windows in loaded and sometime the orange charge light will come on. but once you unplug the power adapter same issue. the bios chip firmware either need to be reinstaled and updated or you bio chip had a defect in it. which HP does know about. If your pc is still under waranty, call them asap they will send out a box to have the unit fix without now charge. just make sure ou bak up all of you data or remove hard drive is it does not voide the warenty

Should you fix or replace your Apple MacBook Pro 13 battery yourself?

After using the Apple MacBook Pro 13 for several years, the battery will dergrade along with the time passes. If, having run calibration and other tests, there is no improvement, there are in reality two to three options. Pay someone, most likely Apple or an authorised service provider, to replace the battery with prices going up from £110. Alternatively, you could try and fix the battery in your MacBook yourself.

This is possible even MacBook Airs which have the unibody design where the battery is soldered on. And even better still it is arguably cheaper and faster than taking it to Apple.

It is worth remembering that this option is only truly worth considering on older models that are out of warranty. The one-year Apple warranty includes replacement coverage for a defective battery and the company also runs a battery replacement service. You can extend the cover given to defective batteries by taking out AppleCare Protection when you buy your machine.
However, if you still want to go the DIY route, you’ll first need to source the battery from Amazon, eBay or somewhere else(like storebattery.co.nz) – and this will also require you knowing precisely what model you have, so to ensure you buy a compatible battery.

To identify your MacBook, you should be able to find the MacBook’s serial number in the ‘About This Mac’ window.

On the technical front, you’ll need a standard Philips screwdriver, the plastic Spudger tool (£3 on Amazon), the Y1 Tr-wing screwdriver (around £1) and access to web browser to go to iFixit or EveryMac web tutorials.

Most unibody MacBooks are fairly similar with up to nineteen screws that need to be removed (some of these will require the Y1 Tri-wing screwdriver). You should take the lower case off the MacBook, then use the flat end of the spudger to remove the battery from the logic board, before replacing the old battery with the new model. Ensure the computer is switched off and MagSafe is disconnected.

Solutions for Toshiba Qosmio X875 overheating and shutting down

Having cool design, abundant storage capacity, and, of course, superlative 3D display, Toshiba Qosmio X875 has got a large quantity of fans worldwide. At the end of the day, however, performance is the paramount consideration when it comes to gaming laptops.

What does matter, however, is that the Qosmio X875 couldn't even last for a single hour without being plugged in. Unless users stay near a power outlet or spring for a bunch of extra batteries, they won't be going anywhere with the Qosmio X875 any time soon.

But the big shortcoming is the laptop turns very hot when playing games. It means your laptop overheats on full CPU usage overall, so it's laptop issue not unreal. You can try get your laptop vents more space, there possibility that your vents eat up dust over time and now it's blocking air in vents so you would need to clean it up or in general cooling system sucks in your laptop. You could also try to disable any CPU clock boost systems if you have any, which may heat up your CPU.

You can also try disabling realtime rendering in the viewport and to limit the frames per second. To disable realtime rendering there is a little button with an arrow pointing down in the top left corner of the viewport. toshiba qosmio X70-AT01S Toggle the Realtime option off. ( or just press Ctrl+R in the viewport)

To clamp the max frames per second you can type "t.maxfps 30" in the console command on the top right of the editor where it says "Enter Console Command". ( you can experiment with different numbers other than 30 to get a balance)

Just by turning off Realtime rendering my GPU temps go from 71 deg to 42 deg and if I am just working on blueprints or something it works great.

Should I disconnect battery when my laptop is AC powered? That depends.

You may heard many times that it is advisable to disconnect DELL J70W7 battery when your laptop is AC powered because it protects the battery from high voltage (But this is true only if you disconnect the battery well before the battery is fully charged. If you disconnect after the battery is fully charged, you cannot get this benefit), and it protects the battery from the heat generated by the laptop.Yes this sounds reasonable.

Although these are true, disconnecting DELL XPS 14 Series battery may not be necessary for many cases and can even cause problems. You may didn't realize that many laptop vendors provide utility programs that control the charge level. This will eliminate the problem. In addition, batteries are often located at the cool part of the laptop such as the backside (near the LCD panel hinges) of the laptop. In these designs, battery temperature usually stays below 35℃ with normal use. If your laptop is designed this way, the problem does not affect the life span of your battery.
On the other hand, many laptops are designed to limit its performance (limit the maximum CPU clock frequency) when the battery is disconnected. This is because the AC adapter alone may not be able to sustain the power needed by the laptop at its maximum performance state.
Some laptop lower the CPU clock only when its AC adapter cannot sustain the needed power, but some other laptop apply much more conservative policy and limit the CPU frequency to very low level while the laptop is powered by AC only.
If your laptop behaves this way, you may not want to disconnect battery so that you can get full performance of your laptop.

Five things you should know about Asus ZenBook UX305 battery life.

The battery capacity usage versus cycle performance attenuation follows a linear type curve.

Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries typically have a lifespan of between 300 and 500 cycles. With moderate use, Lithium-ion batteries can be expected to deliver around 80% of their original capacity after 300 cycles or about one year of use.

A higher or lower ambient temperature during operation can result in a 70% or more loss of capacity given the same number of cycles.

Other factors that affect battery service life are system design, the notebook model, and operating system power management settings. The environment temperature, as well as the number of times the battery is fully discharged and recharged, also affects the battery's performance.

Original Asus ZenBook UX305 battery

The battery pack's discharge rate on a notebook computer is directly affected by the power management settings and what types of applications are running. For example, processor-intensive applications for graphics and animation, gaming, and video playback consume more power than general desktop applications.
